I want to thank Congress for passing the health care bill. Even though I’ve always had health insurance, I believe there should be a system for all Americans who want insurance to have it. It’s part of the freedom of choice that we all value so greatly.

In the bill, if you don’t want insurance, then you pay a tax. This also makes sense to me because as a medical student I’m aware that doctors take an oath to do no harm and cannot turn away someone in need of emergency care. This tax will cover the cost of care for people who choose not to enroll.

I’m confident this law will improve people’s health because by covering more people with insurance, preventative health measures will enable them to avoid chronic illnesses.

All in all, I’m proud of our government and I hope that everyone, no matter their view on the issue, can be happy Congress did its job.

The best part of this letter is the comments.... highlights (so far) include:

"Like most Liberals, Joanna needs someone to take care of her."

"This letter is why only taxpayers should be allowed to vote." (i do pay taxes, btw)

"I fear the USA, as we know and love it, is doomed and nearing collapse."

"Joanna is just another useful idiot."

I most like the gloom and doom comments about how everyone will lose their jobs or get sick and die in the next 6 years. I also appreciate being called "useful".
